IMDM is a modified version of Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium, containing selenium and other amino acids and vitamins. Additionally, this unique medium is iron-free, using potassium nitrate instead of ferrous nitrate. IMDM contains no proteins, lipids, or growth factors. Therefore, IMDM requires supplementation with nutrients, typically necessitating the addition of 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS). It is highly suitable for high-density cell cultures with rapid proliferation, including Jurkat, COS-7, and macrophage cells.
